The walk starts in the "Wolfloch" area and leads to the former bakery and the old sawmill of the farmhouse "Wolflochhof". At the village of Waldau you can see the highest mountain of the Black Forest area: the Feldberg. | ||
You then walk to an elevation to the farmhouse "Fernhof", at an altitude of a 1060 meter. Later on you will pass the "Steinberg", the highest "mountain" of Neukirch. You see huge woods and have a view to the mountain "Kandel" which is on top of the city of Waldkirch. At the farmhouse "Kohlplatz" the people are doing the hay harvest and the route leads to the valley "Wagnerstal". |
At the former "kings farmhouse" (Königenhof)
you can see the plaque in think of the avalanche accident in the early 1900s.
The former chapel of the farmhouse "Kajetanshof" is the only remains of that time in this
desert valley.
Passing the marvellous flowers in bloom we walk up to the
"Neukircher Brend" (950 m).
The love to the nature unites the Black Forest people who lives in the old
farmhouses.

We are now in the centre of Neukirch which is surrounded of woods and meadows.
One last look to the "Kohlplatz" and "Steinberg"
We are passing the "Wassertretstelle" and go the restaurant "Gasthaus Hirschen". We follow the "Kohlerwaldweg"-path with view to Neukirch and "Feldberg" and reaching the "Unterfallengrundhof" farmhouse. It is the location of a famous german TV series "Die Fallers". We arrive the "Vogthansenhof"and "Kirnerhof" farmhouses which has been the location for the movie "Die Schwarzwaldmühle" in 1953. At least we go the restaurant "Gasthaus Ochsen". |
